Cristian K. Gomez

Software developer

I am a highly competent engineer with a varied track record in designing websites, building apps, networking and managing teams. I have strong technical skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills, enabling me to interact with a wide range of clients. I am eager to be challenged in order to improve my skills, specially when it comes to building DApps as I have been a crypto lover since I first found about Bitcoin in 2015. Feel free to check out my latest side projects.

Something that I think is quite notable about my profile is that I love building platforms or just documenting useful information for other people trying to understand certain areas. For instance, I uploaded my entire work, tips and tricks to succesfully complete technical interviews at companies such as Google, Apple, Facebook or Amazon (which is where I currently work).

I am part of the Books team, in charge of both physical and digital books (Kindle). Our team manages user facing pages on Amazon.com. Antoher big part of our daily tasks is to continiously work along the design team based in Seattle to plan and implement several aspects to enhance our client's user experience.

Current

After more than 5 months studying to get an internship at one of the big tech companies, and after several rejections from companies like Apple, Facebook or Google I finally got an internship as an SDE at Amazon. I'm currently implementing an internal tool to give a historical view of changes made to Amazon.com detail pages (similar to what Github does) in order to improve the developer's workflow experience.

Bitcoin Flashbacks

During summer of 2021, I decided to build my own collection of NFTs and publish it on Open Sea. The NFTs were built from scratch using Adobe After effects and later minted to be uploaded on OpenSea. Feel free to read the project Whitepaper if you are curious about the project's NFTnomics

BSafe Card

Cold storage startup - March 2021 (ongoing)

One day while trying to find an affordable crypto seed backup to store my Bitcoin mnemonic words, I was so frustrated I could not find one of great quality at a reasonable price. So I decided to make my own, and post it on Reddit. The post blew up in a few hours, so I decided to professionally offer them to other HODLers always having in mind how frustrated I felt myself at the very beginning. This is how this idea also became my Business Management thesis that if you are curious can access here.

Today the product is available on BSafe Card official web where payments in several crypto currencies are accepted. To enable this I used Coinbase API to integrate in my shop. As Coinbase does only provide the payment bridge but does not collect and store customer shipping information I built a paralell system to accomplish this.

The product is also available on Etsy.

Recracking The Coding Interview

Coding interview guide - Summer 2019

While preparing for coding interviews, I decided to build something from the effort of studying each of the topics that were needed. I mainly used the famous book Cracking the Coding Interview by Gayle Laakman McDowell to have a path to follow. I tried to put all the concepts a bit more clear and compact than they appear in the book while also adding extra information I thought would become very handy. This guide also links with a explained snippets library that I have built to gain more practice and to recall the algorithms, tips & tricks faster.

Interests

Apart from being a software developer, I enjoy most of my time being outdoors. In the winter, I usually travel to warmer places. During the warmer months here in Madrid, I enjoy running, swimming and playing soccer or squash with my friends.

When forced indoors, I follow a number of sci-fi and fantasy genre movies and television shows. I also like to follow the crypto world.
